Mama Dixie Born in Coalfire, Alabama, Mama Dixie’s real name has fallen through the cracks of time. The daughter of a banker, she was taught about the value of money early in life. At age 14, she became an aid to the school nurse. When the nurse was relocated here, she followed and became social companion to Mr. P. Enis, Sr., then President of the local University. It was there that Mama met Sunshine Devine – caretaker of the president’s gardens and good friend of Mr. P. Enis, Jr. They became sturdy companions and, with a bit of financial backing, began traveling the world in search of beautiful, bawdy and brave women and men for their burlesque – The Pink Box Burlesque!
